Book Description
The book «KUT» is a photo album about the wild nature of Belarus, in both Belarusian and English languages. It includes photographs taken by Slava Mazai and Lesha Ugalnikov, who have been traveling around Belarus for ten years, capturing its natural beauty. The album is enriched with travel stories, bringing abstract shots to life.
Creation of the Book
The work on the book began when designer Dima Buko met Slava Mazai in October 2022. After their first meeting, Slava shared his best photographs, and Dima invited Slava's friend Lesha Ugalnikov, with whom he had made these shots, to the project. Olga Palevikova joined the project as an editor, helping to turn travel stories into narratives.
Unique Features of the Book
Bilingual structure: the book is in Belarusian and English languages.
The photo album is structured by geographic squares of Belarus, dividing the country into 40 parts.
The book includes about 600 photos out of the initially selected 3000.
Each page is accompanied by photo captions, similar to an art gallery.
